June 2023 GFGM Events

• Garfield Park: Hatchery 6-week cooking & nutrition cohort began June 8

• North Lawndale: Farm on Ogden VeggieRx collaboration with GFGM 6-week cooking & nutrition cohort began June 9- this cohort is in Spanish

• South Lawndale: GFGM tabled at Mercado de Colores on June 10

• GFGM began a collaboration with Zafra Farm, a queer POC – run incubator farm in Bronzeville. GFGM is featuring their produce in the cohort classes

• North Lawndale: GFGM hosting a food demo with the Lawndale Christian Health Center Senior Center, June 20 12 pm to 2 pm

• South Shore: GFGM is collaborating with UIC to create a community of support for Black women with hypertension and high BMI. GFGM will be providing the cooking instruction for 2 cohorts beginning June 21

• South Lawndale: GFGM will table at Mercado de Colores and pass out samples in July (either July 1 or July 8)

• Garfield Park: GFGM will present a healthy cooking demo on Lettuce Wraps at the Legler Library, July 18 at 12 pm

• GFGM will be doing a chef demo at the Green City Market in Lincoln Park on July 22
